Three of our most recent favorites are (in no particular order):

1) Mi Pueblito Bakery (North Armenia)- the empanadas are $1 each and AMAZING. We’ve had some other dishes but continually come back for the empanadas.
2) Zigi Cafe (Davis Island) – healthy, delicious food. A friend recently introduced me to the “Protein Bowl” and while a bit pricey, absolutely delicious. It’s located on Davis Island and lunch parking can get busy but still manageable.
3) Bamboozle Cafe (Downtown Tampa) – this is probably much better known now than a couple years ago, but I’m still surprised how many people haven’t heard about it. We’ve been for both lunch and dinner. Lunch is kind of like a Subway concept, but for fresh Vietnamese rolls (Cannot go wrong with the Kickin’ Chickin’, Ahi Tuna or Avocado Rolls.) For dinner, we’ve done the curry, several of the soups and more rolls. Small, quiet atmosphere yet lively enough to have some nice energy.

4) Just visited Sushiyaki on South Dale Mabry yesterday and it was very good. Had the Spicy Salmon Bowl and would have it again. As the couple reviews on Yelp say, prices are great and food is delicious. Sushiyaki is in the same place that Just Thai used to be so if you’re familiar with that location you should have no trouble finding it (just south of the Publix at Neptune and Dale Mabry).
